Welcome to Maple Hall Council! Everyone is welcome in this community! There is no application required to come to events and meetings. However, we offer Executive Board positions & Representative Board Positions. You can find out more information about the specific position responsibilities below!
Maple residents serving on the executive board actively create agendas for the Maple Hall Council. They can expect to attend weekly MHC meetings and executive board meetings. Many executive board members will oversee the work of their fellow peers in Hall Council. Executive Board members can expect to spend about 4-6 hours per week on MHC.
Working with the ARD, plans and facilitates MHC meetings and executive board meetings.
Responsible for assisting the ARD with oversight of MHC executive board,
Facilitates weekly MHC meeting,
Facilitates, in concert with Advisor, weekly MHC executive board meeting,
Creates agenda, in collaboration with ARD, for general council and executive board meetings,
Facilitates monthly 1:1s with MHC executive board,
Attends weekly 1:1 meeting with ARD Rikhia,
Attends RCSA meetings when community presents funding proposals to support representatives,
Other duties as assigned by ARD.
Oversees Maple's RCSA, ASUW, BAC, and SEED representatives.
Responsible, in concert with ARD, for the oversight of RCSA, ASUW, BAC, and SEED representatives,
Attends weekly RCSA general council meetings (Wednesdays 4:30pm),
Facilitates MHC vote for any necessary RCSA legislation/initiative,
Follows up with representatives who miss weekly meetings to encourage consistent participation,
Checks in regularly with representatives,
Attends bi-weekly meetings with ARD Rikhia,
Attends monthly meetings with MHC Director,
Attends weekly MHC meetings,
Attends weekly executive board meetings.
Disseminates information to Maple residents about events through email, flyers, and social media.
Serves as point of contact for marketing for community council sponsored programming efforts,
Works in collaboration with AD for Programming for marketing,
Manages MHC social media sites (if applicable) & collaborates with adviser to provide content for community Facebook page,
Records minutes from general council meetings and executive board meetings weekly,
Distributes weekly general council minutes to all community council members,
Works in collaboration with Assistant Director for Recruitment & Retention to disseminate information out to residents about community council regularly (social media, flyers, posters, emails, etc.),
Attends bi-weekly meetings with ARD Rikhia,
Attends monthly meetings with MHC Director,
Attends weekly MHC meetings,
Attends weekly executive board meetings.
Coordinates activities to promote bonding and inclusion within MHC.
Coordinates quarterly MHC bonding activity,
Coordinates weekly activities at General Council meetings to welcome and include members,
Icebreakers, energizers, games, etc.,
Coordinate community council recognition efforts,
Should focus on utilizing RCSA Dubs Up! Awards as a foundation for recognition,
Attends bi-weekly meetings with ARD Rikhia,
Attends monthly meetings with MHC Director,
Attends weekly hall council meetings,
Attends weekly executive board meetings.
Serves as point of contact for MHC's collaborations with partners in HFS, UW, and the Seattle community.

Works with MHC ARD to ensure that invited guests and organizations align with the values of CRA, HFS, and UW,
Attends bi-weekly meetings with ARD Rikhia,
Attends monthly meetings with MHC Director,

Serves as point of contact for MHC's programming efforts.
Serves as the point of contact for programming efforts in community,
Facilitates goal setting conversation regarding programming in MHC at the beginning of each quarter,
Completes programming form audits in IHFS quarterly (by end of week 10 each quarter),
Submits any RCSA funding proposal forms (initial form, presentation slides, follow up form),
Coordinates presenters for funding proposal requests in RCSA general council,
Attends bi-weekly meetings with ARD Rikhia,
Attends monthly meetings with MHC Director,
Attends weekly MHC meetings,
Attends weekly executive board meetings.
Serves as an education coordinator that will:
facilitate pair-shares of knowledge within bi-weekly meetings to get a sense of topics, issues, and trainings members are interested in.
communicate educational topics of interest to ARD, including potential resources.
facilitate trainings within the executive board meetings on topics regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Works with MHC ARD to create an inclusive environment for Hall Council members to discuss,

Residents in representative board positions will serve as the liaison between Hall Council and the HFS Programming Organizations. They will be expected to attend weekly MHC meetings and an additional meeting with another student leadership group per week. They will synthesize information provided in the respective student leadership group and report back to MHC. Representatives can expect to spend about 3-4 hours per week on MHC.
Represents Maple Hall at weekly RCSA meetings. RCSA is a student government which passes legislation specifically for the on-campus residential communities.

Attends weekly hall caucus meeting led by RCSA Director of External Affairs,
Attends weekly ASUW Senate meeting (Tuesdays at 5:30pm),
Attends weekly general council meetings,
Provides regular updates in MHC about ASUW and campus initiatives,
Engages in discussion with MHC members to gather student opinion,
Attends quarterly meeting with ARD Rikhia,
Attends monthly meetings with AD for Representation.
Attends weekly SEED meetings and advocates for sustainability within the residential communities.
Attends weekly SEED general council meetings (Thursdays at 5:30pm),
Provides regular updates in MHC about SEED,
Facilitates hall council vote for any necessary SEED legislation/initiative,
Attends quarterly meeting with ARD Rikhia,
Attends monthly meetings with AD for Representation,
Attends weekly MHC meetings.
Attends weekly meetings to learn about HFS budgeting and operations, then facilitates a presentation of the HFS rates proposal process in Winter Quarter.

About RCSC: RCSC is an opportunity for a group of students to learn and give input into the HFS conduct process.
The RCSC rep would be responsible for
adjudicating formal hearings.
hearing probation and suspended termination early exit requests.
facilitating Community Living workshops.
RCSC reps attend

Conduct Committee meetings.

All Maple residents are invited to be floor representatives. Floor reps are vital to Maple Hall Council since they collaborate with Exec Board and the Program Representatives while also advocating for their floor's needs & interests! Floor reps have the opportunity to develop leadership skills & organize building programs & initiatives. Floor reps spend about 1-2 hours per week on Hall Council.
