CRA is a student-led leadership group for residents of Cedar Apartments.
CRA is for residents who want to develop new skills, meet new people, advocate for their community, make Cedar Apartments feel more like home, and demonstrate leadership skills that can be applied to other jobs, internships, and positions.
Grow your skills. Get involved with the Cedar Residents' Association to develop your leadership abilities and learn new skills that are transferable to future internships and jobs.
Be an advocate. The Cedar Residents' Association is involved in decision-making at all levels through ASUW, RCSA, and other advocacy organizations.
Develop connections. Get involved with the Cedar Residents' Association to make friends and organize virtual events that bring together the Cedar community.
• Attends weekly hall caucus meeting led by RCSA Director of Government Affairs
• Meeting time determined at beginning of Autumn Quarter
• Attends weekly ASUW Senate meeting (Tuesdays from 5:00pm – 7:00pm)
• Attends weekly hall council meetings
• Provides regular updates in hall council about ASUW and campus initiatives
• Engages in discussion with hall council members to gather student opinion
• Attends quarterly meeting with Hall Council Advisor
• Attends monthly meetings with AD for Representation
• Attends weekly RCSA general council meetings (Wednesdays from 4:30pm – 6:00pm)
• Provides regular updates in hall council about RCSA
• Facilitates hall council vote for any necessary RCSA legislation/initiative
• Attends quarterly meeting with Hall Council Advisor
• Attends monthly meetings with AD for Representation
• Attends weekly hall council meetings
Skills needed for Role
• Good listening, communication, interest in student government/legislative process (not required), confidence, concise, ability to take good notes and synthesize information, ability to put personal opinions aside to represent larger community
• Attends weekly BAC meetings (Thursdays at 5:30pm during Autumn/Winter quarter)
• Attends weekly hall council meetings (not required)
• Provides regular updates in hall council about BAC
• Facilitates formal presentation to hall council about the Rates Proposal process in Winter Quarter
• Attends monthly 1:1 meetings with AD for Representation
• Attends quarterly meeting with Hall Council Advisor
Skills needed for Role
• Interested in finance/budget processes, diplomatic, public speaking, effective in group conversations, ability to take good notes and synthesize information, advocate for self and others
• Adjudicates Formal Hearing upon requests of students
• Attends weekly hall council meetings
• Facilitates educational workshops
• Hears probation and suspended termination early exit requests
• Attends bi-weekly RCSC meetings (Tuesdays from 5:30pm – 6:30pm)
Skills needed for Role
• High level of responsibility & dependability, experience managing interpersonal dynamics in an appropriate way, experience presenting to groups or doing debate (not required)
• Attends weekly SEED general council meetings (Thursdays from 5:30pm – 6:30pm)
• Provides regular updates in hall council about SEED
• Facilitates hall council vote for any necessary SEED legislation/initiative
• Attends quarterly meeting with Hall Council Advisor
• Attends monthly meetings with AD for Representation
• Attends weekly hall council meetings
Skills needed for Role

• Responsible for assisting the Advisor (ARD) with oversight of community council executive board
• Facilitates weekly hall council meeting
• Facilitates, in concert with Advisor, weekly hall council executive board meeting
• Creates agenda, in collaboration with Advisor, for general council and executive board meetings
• Facilitates monthly 1:1s with hall council executive board
• Attends weekly 1:1 meeting with Advisor
• Attends RCSA meetings when community presents funding proposals to support representatives
• Other duties as assigned by Advisor
• Responsible, in concert with Advisor, for the oversight of RCSA, ASUW, BAC, RCSC and SEED representatives
• Attends weekly RCSA general council meetings (Wednesdays 4:30pm – 6:00)
• Facilitates hall council vote for any necessary RCSA legislation/initiative
• Follows up with representatives who miss weekly meetings to encourage consistent participation • Checks in regularly with representatives
• Attends bi-weekly meetings with Hall Council Advisor
• Attends monthly meetings with Hall Council Director
• Attends weekly hall council meetings
• Attends weekly executive board meetings
• Serves as the point of contact for programming efforts in community
• Facilitates goal setting conversation regarding programming in hall council at the beginning of each quarter
• Completes programming form audits in IHFS quarterly (by end of week 10 each quarter)
• Submits any RCSA funding proposal forms (initial form, presentation slides, follow up form)
• Coordinates presenters for funding proposal requests in RCSA general council
• Attends bi-weekly meetings with Hall Council Advisor
• Attends monthly meetings with Hall Council Director
• Attends weekly hall council meetings
• Attends weekly executive board meetings

• Coordinates weekly activities at General Council meetings to welcome and include members

• Should focus on utilizing RCSA Dubs Up! Awards as a foundation for recognition
• Attends bi-weekly meetings with Hall Council Advisor
• Attends monthly meetings with Hall Council Director

• Energetic, creative, organized, public speaking, inclusive, approachable
• Serves as point of contact for marketing for community council sponsored programming efforts
• Works in collaboration with AD for Programming for marketing
• Manages community council social media sites (if applicable) & collaborates with adviser to provide content for community Facebook page
• Records minutes from general council meetings and executive board meetings weekly
• Distributes weekly general council minutes to all community council members
• Works in collaboration with Assistant Director for Recruitment & Retention to disseminate information out to residents about community council regularly (social media, flyers, posters, emails, etc.)
• Attends bi-weekly meetings with Hall Council Advisor
• Attends monthly meetings with Hall Council Director
• Attends weekly hall council meetings
• Attends weekly executive board meetings

All Cedar residents are invited to be floor representatives! Floor representatives are vital to CRA. Floor representatives advocate for their floor's needs and interests at CRA meetings, develop leadership skills, and organize building initiatives. Floor representatives can expect to spend approximately 1-2 hours per week on Hall Council.
